The boys had their two month checkup on Tuesday and things went well.
First, Joe no longer has to have his twice a day shots for a blood thinner medicine which is a big relief for everyone. Not only that, but the doctors find no need to monitor the situation any longer, so, see ya later hematologistgator!
Second, weight update. 6 weeks ago they each 6.5 lbs, as of Tuesday they weigh a hair over 9.5 lbs, which is outstanding! The doctors would like to see a half a pound a week, so they are right on schedule.
Third, the boys received their first round of shots. These shots differed from the shots Joe recieved and these were into the muscle, vs. just being below the surface of the skin. What a difference. Katie and I were holding them and talking with the doctor and everything was so peaceful. Then the nurse arrived to give the shots, which a spectacle in its own right. She managed to give three shots, two in one leg, one in the other, in less than 7 seconds.
I can just imagine what was running through Thomas' mind from the being held comfortably to the shots......"Oh Dad, you're the greatest, smartest, most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I love you so much. (Bam, Bam, Bam, three shots given) What the $#*& was that? You bastard!"
How real Stewie Griffin's character in Family Guy really is!
