Trucking away!

Hey all!

Here is thy obligatory apology for not posting for almost 2 months. So much happening. So little time. As most of you know, my busiest time of the year at work is from Feb - April 15th, so it's been a little intense over the past two months working a lot and being a parent for the first time. So here are the notable events of the past two months, sorry if I leave out anything, there is only so much time.

1. After our bout with really cold weather, we saw two uncharacteristically large snow storms in one week. The first dropped 14 inches and second dropped about 16 inches, so it was pretty fun so see so much snow. If only Tom and Joe were a couple years older, we would have had a ton of fun in the snow. As a result of the storms, Auntie Meredith's flight back to NYC was cancelled so she stopped by to see the boys. See pictures below.

2. The boys went through an extremel exhausting stretch where one of them would wake up at about 2 am and the other at 4 am. This lasted about three weeks and was very trying as it just happened that Katie worked alot over this period. It was mainly do to the boys cutting their first teeth. First Tom cut his bottom two teeth, and then he started working on his top two teeth. Joe had no teeth, and then all of sudden, he ended up cutting alll four of these teeth in a about a week. Fortunately, the teeth have worked there way in and we are mostly past the interrupted sleep thing.

3. The boys are crawling all over. All over the floor. Alll over each other. And they really enjoy pulling themselves up to stand. Tom has been doing it probably for the last 4 weeks. It was cute. He would pull himself up and then not know how to get down. So we would wake up to him in the middle of the night screaming because he didn't know how to get down. Hilarious. About two weeks ago he figured out how to sit down and know he kind of just plops himself down. Joe was really not interested in standing, up until this past weekend. And in less than a week he is standing, and sitting back down very easily. It's interesting watch them learn to do the same thing, but start at different times and at different paces. They both still arm crawl, but they can book it.

4. When I come home from work now and they hear my voice, they stop what they are doing and make a bee line for me. It's the highlight of my day. Everyday.

5. In a very cool occurance, the one and only Mothball was up in MN, so we hung out, ate some food, and drank some beer. It was awesome and weird at the same time. I've really only known Mothball at ND and now to have Mothball in MN it was crazy. Anyway, for all of his PhDing, this brother can't follow directions worth jack. Tell him west, he goes east. Tell him turn left, he turns right. Tell him to count to two, he counts to three. In what should have been a 5 minute drive, he turned into a 45 minute drive. What a goof, it's not like I gave him bad directions or something. The boys enjoyed Uncle Mothball, and especially his Goatee. See below.

6. After the big snow storms we ended up having 80 degree weather in March. Yes, that's not a typo. 80 degrees. In March. In Minnesota. Take that all you snowbirds! Anyway, it was ridiculous to wear shorts in March. The boys were able to style their sexy legs which was da bomb. Check it.

7. Does anyone else watch American Idol? Sangaya is da bomb. 'Nuff said. Also, if you didn't see SNL with Peyton Manning, find a copy. Watch the first skit about the United Way and the NFL. And then later see Will Forte as the head coach of a basketball team. Outstanding work.

8. Taxes. Lots of 'em. Hope yours are done too.

Ok, onto the pics. They are in reverse chronological order:

Joe had a case of chronic tireditis while eating. He simple gave up. Hilarious

Meanwhile, Tom was charged and ready to eat! Somebody get this boy a CJ's SuperPub!

Yes it is possible to drink from a bottle and look like a badass! Joe in the rear, Tom up fro.

Here's a recent picture of our cousin Braden. He is so awesome. Some babies have a special blanket or stuffed animal that is dear to them. For Braden it's a bottle of liquid Tylenol. He has to hold onto it and sleep with it all the time. Too cute!

Here's a picture of our boys with two of their twin friends Carrick and Caedmon. Lots of cute babies.

Sexy legs.

Here's Tom and Joe fighting over the TV remote.
