Happy New Year

Good lord. I can't believe it's been almost two months since we last posted. Oh the good old days of free time. So apparantly a lot has happened although most of it is a blur. I could go into detail about a lot of things but won't for the sake of everyone.

Thanksgiving. Two families. Two dinners on seperate days. Leftovers. Happiness.

Christmas Shopping. Kids make this easy. Do the large endeavour it is to travel with da boys, we got 80% of it done in one day. Good stuff.

Christmas Party - Katie and I have started a tradition since we first bought our townhouse of throwing a Christmas party for both of our familes. Would two little patootskis get the way of partizitry? Absolutely not. Are we nuts? Absolutely. If we weren't so damn anal about having our place squeeky clean and serving all homemade food, it would be a hell of a lot easier, but why compromise our standards? It was a ton of work and super nice to see our house like it was BTAJ (Before Tom And Joe). Ah the days of yore: enjoy the freedom of spontaneous irresponsibility while you still have it. As you will see in the pictures below, we were hipping it.

Christmas Cookie Monster - That's Katie. She baked about 8 trillion sugar cookies and I baked a bunch of super aus chocolate chip pistachio dried cherry cookies. Scrumtulescent. And yes, Katie is the cookie the monster. Here appetite right now is probably the same, if not greater than when she was pregnant. Think not? How does 4 bowls of cereal in the middle of the night and then another 4 in morning sound? Damn you General Mills!

We had lots of guest visitors and as always had good times. Young loving fiances Nick L. and Jess B. visited. They are such cute fiances. They aren't waiting either, and August wedding will be had with yours truely tickling the ivories at the mass. Remember, prewedding pub crawls are never a bad idea. Fiances.

California Christmas. First real snow on New Year's Day. Yes, we do live in MN.

Ok, so enough about us. What aboot da boys?

It is the greatest gift to watch them develop, grow, mature, eat, speak, and everything else they do. It is really humble to see what we all were at one time (and still are today): uncoordinated, impatient, dependent, eager, embracing, trusting, loving, little baabees. You may think you have known unconditional love with your wife, fiance, or domestic partner, but it is nothing, and I repeat nothing, compared the constant exposure of someone who is completely dependent on you for ability to live. Big time responsibility, but what a reward. I drive a Dodge Stratus.

Everyday is a joy in a uniquely different way. Over the last couple of months a number of things have changed:

The nursery - Both boys officially left our bedroom, much to our shagrin, and now party it up with each other in their nursery.

Rolling Over - Like crazy. They can pretty much get wherever they want to in no time flat. It really is true that you turn your head and they move what would seem to be an impossible distance in such a short time.

Solid Foods have been introduced into their diet. Applesauce, pears, sweet potatos, plums, and others. At first they didn't know what to do, but now eat quite well, as long as they can keep the Cookie Monster away from eating it all.

All sorts of new facial expressionss. See below.
More sylabbles. Wa wa wa, instead of ah ah ah, , oh, oh, and the occasional "Deeammm, Mom is fine!"
They are much more social and very ticklish. I think of Stewie from Family Guy everytime they start laughing while being tickled.

Other noteworthy shenanigans:
ND got their ass handed to them in the Sugar Bowl. Seniors need to graduate. Junior and Sophomore classes should be skipped and all freshman should play next year along with whatever recruits we get. There is too much of a "here we go again" attitude by the older players on the team.

Animal and Lizette got engaged. Prewedding pubcrawl. Do it!

Ok, so here the pics in no particular order since uploading sucks.

Christmas at my parents house:

Thomas doing his best imitation of Dad smiling and dislocating his lower jaw. Booya, it's genetic suckas!

Grandpa Mac with all 3 grandsons.

"Shhhhhuuuuutttt uuuuuppppp Uncle Keith."

Our Godson Braden with parents Molly and AJ. (Thank God Braden doesn't smile like Daddy)

He was also tuckered out after Christmas with the Vnaks

Joseph and Thomas chilling out. Who's selling ham?

As you can see up close, Joe and Tom are starting to look different. Joe's head is longer, while Tom's is pleasantly plump. :)
